Reflecting the landscape and environment in which it was produced, Keweenaw Industrial Vol. 1 is a gritty and innovative project from long-time none/such affiliate price. Each track, with its layers of distorted field recordings, sounds like a collection of natural sounds assembled through rusted, industrial machinery. Though harsh, warped, twisted, and relentless, glimmers of warmth do shine through layers of processing, a reminder that even in the most polar conditions, spring eventually comes.

In proper midwest fashion, Detroit techno mainstay Rebecca Goldberg is on remix duties, serving a properly acid-focused club weapon, infused with the sounds of northern Michigan.
